Configure #deliver using Gmail routing and compliance rules. This lets your team route approved customer emails through Documentd while continuing to work in Gmail.

This setup will not disrupt your current email service. It only routes outbound emails that match the #deliver rule.

Open Gmail settings
Open the Google Admin console so you can configure Gmail routing.
- 1Log into the Google Admin console at .
- 2Select 'Apps'.
- 3Select 'Google Workspace'.
- 4From the list, select 'Gmail'.

Configure the StayPrivate host
Add StayPrivate as a mail host so Gmail can route approved emails to the Documentd secure delivery service.
- 1Click 'Hosts'.
- 2Click 'ADD ROUTE' to add a new mail route.
- 3Enter the name .
- 4In 'Enter host name or IP', enter .
- 5In the numeric field next to it, enter the port number .
- 6Click 'Save'.

Create the content compliance rule
Create a rule that identifies outbound emails containing and routes them through the StayPrivate host.
- 1Go back to the Gmail settings page by clicking 'Settings for Gmail' near the top.
- 2Scroll near the bottom and click 'Compliance'.
- 3Scroll to 'Content compliance' and click 'CONFIGURE'. If you already have a rule, click 'ADD ANOTHER RULE'.
- 4Under 'Content compliance', enter .
- 5Under '1. Email messages to affect', select 'Outbound'.
- 6Under '2. Add expressions that describe...', select 'If ALL of the following match the message', then click 'ADD'.
- 7Change 'Simple content match' to 'Advanced content match'.
- 8Under 'Location', select 'Headers + body'.
- 9Under 'Match type', select 'Matches regex'.
- 10Under 'Regexp', enter , then click 'SAVE'.

Add the processed-header exception
Add an exception so emails already processed by Documentd are not routed again.
- 1Click 'ADD' to add another expression.
- 2Change 'Simple content match' to 'Advanced content match'.
- 3Under 'Location', select 'Full Headers'.
- 4Under 'Match type', select 'Not contains text'.
- 5Under 'Content', enter , then click 'SAVE'.

Route matching emails
Tell Gmail what to do when the #deliver rule matches an outbound email.
- 1In '3. If the above expressions match, do the following', select 'Modify the message'.
- 2Under 'Route', check 'Change the route'.
- 3Click 'Normal routing' and select .
- 4Under 'Spam', check 'Bypass the spam filter for this message'.
- 5Click 'SAVE' in the bottom right.
Setup complete
You can now use #deliver
Outbound emails containing #deliver will be routed through Documentd for secure customer delivery.
Remove #deliver from Google Workspace
Remove the Gmail rule and host if you no longer want to use #deliver.
